Upon Paterson's Exit From Democratic Primary, Kaye Exonerates Him

Democratic N.Y. gubernatorial candidate and current Attorney General Andrew Cuomo appointed former Chief Judge Judith Kaye, appointed by Cuomo's father, to "investigate" N.Y. Democratic Governor David Paterson for "misconduct" uncovered by the New York Times after Paterson announced his candidacy for governor, setting up a Democratic primary. In making that announcement, Paterson was bucking President Obama, who publicly told Paterson not to run. The scandal was carefully timed by Democratic operatives working out of the White House to pressure Paterson to bow out of the primary. There's a certain irony in the first black President giving New York's first black governor the boot.
I said at the time that if Paterson bowed out of the Democratic primary, the charges would go away. Kaye now has made that happen, keeping Cuomo's side of the deal. The scandal concocted by New York Democrats was never about Paterson's misconduct, and always about pressuring him to depart the primary.an>
