The NRCC has started a campaign to oust Democratic Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi. Sign the petition at this link...
In 2008, Nancy Pelosi received 204,996 votes to win reelection in her home district. We need your help today to collect at least 204,997 names on our "Fire Nancy Pelosi" mobile petition. You can put us one step closer to our goal by signing the petition right away.
Republicans are in a strong position to take back the House majority and fire Pelosi in the 2010 midterm election. In terms of candidate recruitment, fundraising, and issue development, we are far ahead of where we were at this point in 1993 - and you remember what happened in 1994.
Please take a moment to sign our petition by entering your mobile number to the right and send a clear message that Americans are unhappy with Pelosi's "leadership."
We all cherish democracy. It is one of the pillars upon which America stands. However, when many of our elected officials face no opposition year after year, our liberty erodes and we risk becoming little more than a very powerful banana republic. That is what is happening in NY right now. The vast majority of our elected state officials face no opposition year and after, and we now see the result. Oppressive taxes, out of control spending, dysfunctional government.
That is why the new Assembly Republican Leader, Brian Kolb, is looking to run candidates in every Assembly district in NY in 2010. But we can't do that without the help of every Republican and a very large war chest to take on the Democrats and their powerful special interest supporters who benefit from the status quo. Please help us to restore democracy to New York and preserve our fundamental liberties.
To raise the resources needed to make these races competitive, you are inviting you to the following event to begin the process of taking back our government!

Seems the race is on in Connecticut for one of their U.S. Senate Seats. Former Republican Congressman Rob Simmons just launched a new effort to attack Chris Dodd...
It was this time a year ago that the country suffered through the biggest financial crash since the Great Depression.
No Senator was more enmeshed in this crisis than Chris Dodd. From his refusal to reform financial institutions from whom he had received large campaign checks, to his absence from the Senate Banking Committee on the eve of the crisis, Dodd’s actions helped spark the crisis and made it worse along the way.

In today's NY Post, this story about Iran raises questions about America's present strategy of open negotiations...
Iran boasted that it successfully test-fired at least two short-range missiles yesterday -- in a defiant show of force after Washington and its allies warned Tehran over a newly revealed nuclear facility.
The official English-language Press TV showed pictures of at least two missiles being fired at the same time from a site in a central Iran desert. Men could be heard shouting, "Allahu akbar!" -- God is great -- as the missiles rose into the sky.
...and the Adminstration has yet to lay out a frame-work for taking the tension down in the Middle-East...

The NY Post writes about some of the New Republican energy on the East-Side of Manhattan...
IF New York City ever remotely resembles a two-party town, it'll be largely thanks to folks like Ashok Chandra.
Chandra, a charismatic, 30-year-old lawyer, last week won the Republican nomination for City Council on Manhattan's East Side -- crushing the party leadership's chosen candidate by 67 percent to 33 percent.
That's a rare sign of vigor in an otherwise lifeless Gotham GOP, which often can't find even one candidate to contest a local race. And it portends something just as rare: a spirited general-election challenge.
Incumbent Daniel Garodnick is overwhelmingly likely to hold the seat: Democrats outnumber Republicans in the district, which runs from the Upper East Side to Stuyvesant Town, by more than five to two.
But Chandra's a compelling enough figure to make at least a showing. Though a political rookie, he presents a sensible, right-of-center platform -- cutting taxes and red tape for small businesses, promoting charter schools -- with natural credibility.
...and from the issues and overall message on Mr. Chandra's website, it is clear that this is the type of campaign Republican voters can truly get excited about. The story goes on...

The former Mayor's words should be a rallying cry for average New Yorkers...
...the phrase "show me your bankbook" explains exactly the disconnect between Mayor Bloomberg's supporters and the middle-class. First of all, Koch's use of the word "bankbook" should scare away most people under the age of 40. What is a "bankbook?" Second...
