According to a story reported in the New York Post, the heavily Democrat New York City Council is about to resurrect a previous proposal by Democrat Daniel Dromm to allow not only resident aliens but illegal aliens to vote.
Bertha Lewis formerly head of ACORN is pushing for allowing this bill to be passed ahead of next years New York City municipal elections. Lewis said “We want to expand the right to vote for everybody, not suppress the vote. What a radical idea..”
The only pushback this far has been from Mike Long, the New York state Conservative Party chairman, who blasted the proposal as a move by liberal Democrats to boost their support. “This is outrageous. … American citizens have the right to determine the destiny of towns, villages, cities, states and the country,” Long said.
Let’s face it however, this bill will pass. There is not meaningful resistance from the Republican Caucus in the New York City Council and the time is ripe now as payback for the raises the council members received. Expect it to pass in the Spring and then except it to be used in fraudulent ways in other elections. But first it will allow De Blasio to win re-election next year.
